There are two main categories of stainless steel brackets: by shape and by application.
Brackets can be classified by shape as L, U, T, Z, flat, or triangle brackets. By application, they include shelf brackets, mounting brackets, solar brackets, and more.

L, Angle, and Corner Brackets

People are often confused about the differences between L brackets, angle brackets, and corner brackets.

L vs. Angle Brackets:
An L bracket is a type of angle bracket, specifically one with a 90-degree angle. However, an angle bracket can have any angle between 0° and 180° (excluding 0° and 180°, which would be a flat bracket).

Angle vs. Corner Brackets:
Corner brackets are essentially right angle brackets used specifically in corner applications. In short:

  • L and angle brackets are classified by shape
  • Corner brackets are classified by application

Stainless Steel Corner Brackets

Process:

  • Laser cutting and bending: Brackets are cut from flat sheet metal using a laser cutter, then bent to the required angle. Ideal for low-volume production.
  • Stamping: Brackets are formed directly using stamping tools, suitable for mass production.

Applications:
Used in kitchen cabinets, racks, and other settings requiring strength and corrosion resistance.

Stainless Steel Triangle Brackets

Process:

  • Laser cutting and bending: Cut and bent to form two right angles. Suitable for low-volume production.
  • Stamping: Used for mass production.

Applications:

  • Construction (e.g., solar panel mounts, outdoor air conditioner brackets)
  • Equipment support (mechanism brackets)

Stainless Steel U and J Brackets

Process:

  • Laser cutting and bending: Formed with two right-angle bends. Suitable for low-volume production.
If the space between bends is too tight for the bending machine, tooling is required even for low volumes.
  • Stamping: Used for high-volume production.

Applications:
Used in pipe assemblies (e.g., pipe clamps), electrical and electronic equipment (e.g., cable management systems).

Stainless Steel T and Flat Brackets

Process:

  • Laser cutting: These brackets do not require bending and are cut directly from flat sheet metal for low-volume needs.
  • Stamping: Used for mass production.

Applications:
Flat connections in furniture or construction projects requiring durability and corrosion resistance.

Stainless Steel Z Brackets

Process:

  • Laser cutting and bending: Two right-angle bends after laser cutting. Suitable for low-volume production.
  • Stamping: Suitable for high-volume production.

Applications:
Used for offset connections in construction and equipment.

Stainless Steel Mounting Brackets

Process:

  • Stamping only: These brackets typically cannot be formed by bending and require stamping tools regardless of quantity.

Applications:
Used in extreme environments, such as for oil pipe supports in deserts or the Gobi.

Stainless Steel Mechanism Brackets

These brackets are designed for machinery support, requiring high strength and corrosion resistance. They are typically thicker than 3mm.

Process:

  • Laser cutting and bending: Custom-cut and bent for specific machinery applications. Quantities are generally low.
